In an interview with Asashi Shimbun, a Japanese newspaper, president of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, talked about goals for 2010. He mentioned the importance of DS WiFi spots increasing around in Japan and the deal Nintendo has with McDonalds to offer special download content.
Iwata made clear that they aren't looking to make the DS successor into something subscription based like the I-Phone, but that the next DS will surely have highly detailed graphics and a sensor for reading a player's movements. There's no date for the new DS yet since the current one is still selling really well.
About the Wii, Nintendo's president pointed about the importance of software. He mentioned that there'll be a press conference this July in which they'll talk about the Vitality Sensor which they plan to put on sale as soon as possible. Iwata also said that the new Zelda game will be out before the end of 2010. This may only mean for Japan, though.
